| The Illini did
not win but the Institute of Aviation Tailgate party was a
great success. Thanks to the efforts of Ralph, Betty, and
Jan Waldhauser, and Sybil Phillips, 80 alumni and friends
of the Institute gathered to renew old friendships, make new
friends, and swap stories. The weather was dreary, but spirits
were high, as attendees participated in the food and drinks
available just West of Memorial Stadium. The Waldhauser's
RV provided a rallying point but the crowd soon outgrew the
sheltered area. Fortunately it only rained briefly during
half time. The crowd diminished as the game got underway but
a number of dedicated alumni stayed on until way past the
game's completion.
The Homecoming
Tailgate is becoming a big get-together for Institute of
Aviation Alumni. Plan
now to be a part of Homecoming 2004!
