Alumni and Friends

P
We wish to welcome all alumni, instructors and staff as well as past students, to the Alumni section of the Institute of Aviation Web Site. You are part of the rich history of the Institute. Enjoy reading the Newsletter Archives and scanning the Reunion Page for familiar faces. We hope that you could occasionally join us at various social functions such as our Oshkosh Reunion or the many ceremonies which honor people or dedicate facilities at the Institute.

PrThere are many events which provide contact with fellow alumni. The Fall homecoming tailgate party is becoming a well attended event organized as an Institute Alumni gathering. The Spring Career Fair attracts many alums, both, for alums manning their company's booths and for alums who attend to see other alums. Retirement parties, usually held at the Institute during lunch hours, attract many retirees from the past. Oshkosh and Sun'n'Fun gatherings are not structured. We will post meeting places supplied by individuals who wish to organize such gatherings.

PThe Institute of Aviation has evolved steadily since its inception in 1946. High quality instruction in an enriched and organized curriculum has always been our most important asset. The addition of the Aviation Psychology Laboratory in 1948 subtly helped to produce an aviation learning environment of the highest standards while establishing a renown Aviation Human Factors entity. This contribution has gone full circle now that a majority of our flight students are enrolled in the degree program in Aviation Human Factors. (Aviation Psychology Laboratory became Aviation Research Lab and is now part of a division called the Aviation Human Factors Division.)
