Pancake Breakfast

Each spring we hold our annual fundraiser at the Octave Chanute Aerospace Museum in Rantoul, IL.  This location attracts both pilots on the Sunday dawn patrol for breakfast, to families looking for a fun and educational weekend outing.  Anyone and everyone is welcome.

If you've ever been to an EAA type pancake breakfast, you'll know what to expect- a ramp full of airplanes, tables and grills in a large hanger, cooking fresh pancakes, and sausage.  OJ and coffee are prevalent.  There's just one twist- free admission to the museum is included with your breakfast.

From the hanger, that houses everything from a replica missile silo to a replica of Lindbergh's Spirit of St. Louis and even the nose section of a B-52 that you can climb up into.  And the scores of retired Air Force craft, C-130's, F-105's, Albatrosses and even an old C-47.  All of those and more.

Then there's the museum itself, that chronicals the history of the Rantoul and the Chanute Air Force base (did you know Lucky Lindy himself flew out of here when he was with the Army Air Corps?)
